This session took place on Bribie Island, QLD with stunning mama Julia, Husband Jase and their two energetic boys, Van & Ziggy. It was the first time I'd ever been to bribe island let alone shot there, and oh it was more magical than I could describe in words. Luckily I have the photos to prove it.
Julia and Jase thought they were done after their strong headed little Ziggy arrived in 2019. Two boys. A family of four. The were happy with that. But life doesn't always go as we planned now does it? And so they unexpectedly fell pregnant with their third. A COVID baby they like to call it (lol). All of the emotions were felt, from trepidation to fear. But Julia explained it to me a little like this. Once she had that first scan and heard the baby's heart beating she knew there was no question about it. This baby was an unexpected surprise and being a full time working parent and a mother of three would stretch her in ways I am yet to know. But finding out the gender and that the tiny life inside of her was a baby girl... She couldn't help but to feel that it was fate. Her heart was beaming. A baby girl, she couldn't believe it! She burst into happy tears right in the middle of the nail salon.
And so here she is, this beautiful Woman. On the precipice of life as she knows it. Soaking in the magical moments before her baby girl makes the journey earth side. With infinite dreams, hopes and possibilities for this tiny life she's growing. These moments before Jase must navigate the world of raising a female, and their two sons must learn how to be gentle and kind to their younger sister.
We dipped our toes in the sand, swam in the warm, salty water. Soaked in all the love and to top it all of - we watched as dolphins lazily swam by underneath the setting sun and soaring birds. It really was a magical evening and I could't think of a better way to celebrate this time in their lives.
